Previously working as a contract physician, Dr. Suji Mathew joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) as a full-time Infectious Disease Physician in November 2019. Board certified in infectious disease and internal medicine, Dr. Mathew is dedicated to antibiotic stewardship, infection prevention and the accurate diagnosis and treatment of infections. "My ultimate goal is to help, to heal and to serve patients at CTCA®,” she says. At the Atlanta hospital, Dr. Mathew works closely with care teams and patients needing expertise in either diagnosing or managing infectious diseases. CTCA Atlanta has several rapid diagnostic tests that quickly identify infectious pathogens, which helps in streamlining the treatment process. "In my role, I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams for the rapid diagnostic testing of infections, pathogens or resistance genes," says Dr. Mathew. "I strive to quickly identify infection and continuously monitor treatment to improve outcomes."
