I come from a long line of women who were nurses. I greatly admired their compassion and loved to hear their caregiving stories. I embarked on a career in nursing fueled by a profound desire to make a positive impact on people's lives by alleviating their suffering and promoting their well-being. Early in my nursing career I found that I desired to provide my patients with a higher level of care so I furthered my education and became a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. That is a choice that I have never regretted. My passion for science, coupled with a genuine empathy for the challenges people face, fuels my dedication to providing compassionate care and seeking innovative solutions.
I have provided care that has focused on women since 1990 and that desire has never wavered. The route by which I provided that care has changed a few times to fit my family's needs. I am so very pleased to return to the midwifery role once more and be able to serve the community that I have been a part of since 2002.
Empathy is the cornerstone of my philosophy of patient care. I believe that each individual deserves not only the best medical treatment, but also the compassion, understanding, and respect that contribute to their well-being. By truly listening to my patients, considering their unique backgrounds and perspectives, and involving them in their healthcare journey, I aim to create a therapeutic partnership built on trust. This patient-centered approach not only enhances medical outcomes but also fosters a sense of empowerment and dignity, promoting a healthier and more fulfilling life for those I have the privilege to serve.
