She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, but has lived in the Utah since age two. She attended Westminster College of Salt Lake City from 1987-1992 for her undergraduate degree in nursing and obtained her baccalaureate degree (BSN). Ms. Burton went back to Westminster College of Salt Lake City from 1996-1998 for graduate school and obtained her master’s degree in nursing (MSN). She has worked in diabetes and endocrinology as nurse practitioner since 2004, starting at the University of Utah, Utah Diabetes Center.In 2007, Ms. Burton took her boards to become certified as a diabetes educator. She served a three-year commitment as the Chair for the local American Diabetes Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists starting in 2013. She was awarded the Utah Nurse Practitioner of the year in Clinic Excellence in 2017. She loves to attend live performances such as concerts, plays, and comedy. She likes to travel, cook and spend time with her family and grandchildren.
