Dr. Zalman Schrader was born in Brooklyn, New York. He received his BA at Yeshiva University and his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he was elected to the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Schrader completed his internship and residency at the Albert Einstein teaching hospital. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center, and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Schrader’s practice is exclusively focused to the fields of Gastroenterology and liver disease. His special interests include colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, acid reflux, malabsorption, and celiac disease. Dr. Schrader is a past chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey, and a past president of the New Jersey Gastroenterological Society. He is listed as a Top Doctor by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and as one of the outstanding Doctors in the New York Metro area by Castle Connolly Guide. Dr. Schrader sees patients at the West Orange office.
