Dr. Shamma was born in Boston, MA. She received her medical degree from Baghdad University in Baghdad, Iraq in 1979. Dr. Shamma completed her internship at Medical City Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Lankenau and Episcopal Hospitals in Philadelphia, PA and Residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ and Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK. She started her practice in 1987 in Cumberland, MD. In 1988, Dr. Shamma moved to West Virginia and joined Greenbrier Physicians. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Care/Critical Care.
