Dr. Franks is a board certified plastic surgeon who located to Des Moines after completing his subspecialty training in craniofacial and childrens reconstructive surgery at the prestigious New York University School of Medicines Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Prior to that, he had completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at the University of Tennessee. He is the founder and former Medical Director of the Center for Craniofacial and Children Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Currently, Dr. Franks is in private practice. His practice focuses on reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He has developed innovative surgical techniques that he has named %u201CReconstructive Aesthetic Surgery,%u201D which soften changes that occur with the natural aging process of the face, and improve the appearance of unfavorable results from previous cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, body or face. Dr. Franks is also one of a select number of plastic surgeons in the Midwest who perform complex and detailed surgical procedures that address the needs of individuals who have experienced massive weight loss.
