My Practice
I see only emergency patients. I work weekends, almost solely at Morse Avenue in the afternoons and evenings. If you have been a patient of mine and have questions, call me at the Morse Avenue Emergency Department on the weekends; be sure to leave your Kaiser medical number!
My Practice Philosophy
My practice philosophy is simple; take everyone seriously, and do not ignore disease.
My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente
I came to Kaiser Permanente in 1996 on what was to be a two-month locum tenens (filling in for someone). I liked working here so much that I've stayed here ever since.
Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente
I enjoy the professional challenge of seeing complicated cases. I have found the information system to be a huge help in this, giving me the background that is essential for diagnosing and treating our patients. The availability of the specialty medical staff with whom I can discuss cases makes my work in the ED both interesting and rewarding.
My Professional Interests and Affiliations
During my medical career, I have had a variety of affiliations. I have been department director, hospital chief of staff, hospital administrator, trauma director, trauma coordinator, physician supervisor for ambulances and fire districts, chairman of the area trauma advisory committee, and have had many other trauma, emergency, and administrative activities.
My Personal History
I grew up in Oregon, and have lived and worked both in large and small cities. I've taught music in the rural grade school, wind surfed on the Oregon coast, raised a family, and now enjoy painting and reading.
