Dr. Austin received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as his cardiology fellowship, at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. Dr. Austin is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He currently practices with the Piedmont Heart Institute Physician group in the Jasper, Ga. office.
