Dr. Djafari graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992. He earned his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia. Dr. Djafari then completed his internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas, followed by residency training in ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans.
Following residency training, Dr. Djafari undertook a fellowship program in vitreoretinal surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans, headed by Dr. Kurt Gitter. Dr. Djafari took a position at The National Retina Institute, outside of Washington D.C. After five years in private practice at NRI, he elected to move back to Texas to found his own state-of-the-art retina practice, Texas Retina Institute.
Dr. Djafari is board certified in ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He holds active memberships with The American Society of Retina Specialists, The American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Austin Ophthalmological Society.
