Dr. Troy Petersen grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Dakota. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut Health Center in 1998. He was accepted into the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery program at the University of Nebraska where he completed medical school in 2001 and his general surgery internship in 2002. Dr. Petersen completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training in June of 2004 and returned home to North Dakota to practice. Dr. Petersen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He lives in Grand Forks with his wife and four children.
