A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine, Dr. O’Rourke completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He is a member of numerous organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Association for Cancer Research and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. O’Rourke served as Chief of Hematology/Oncology Service at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, before retiring from the U.S. Army as a Colonel in the Medical Corps. He has also served as principal investigator for the Grand Rapids Community Clinical Oncology Program. Dr. O’Rourke joined Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan in 1996.
