Brief Intro

Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I have always had a fascination with how complex things work, and to me nothing is more complex than the human body. I was also blessed with both intellect and a caring nature. I began my college career as a nursing student but, during my sophomore year, a friend encouraged me to consider a career as a medical doctor. During my medical school years, mentors were instrumental in my decision to choose psychiatry as my specialty. This has been a great fit for me over the years, and I believe it truly is my calling.What I want my patients to know about me:My psychiatry career began with the US Navy after I completed my training. I have now served at WellSpan Philhaven in a variety of settings over 20 years. My wife and I have raised our four children, and we are now empty-nesters. In our free time, we serve our local church and enjoy traveling to the western US states. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I am often outside enjoying nature, taking a hike, or bird-watching. I also find lawn care and gardening to be relaxing activities.
