Brief Intro

Dr. Raley graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1991. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. After completing his Orthopaedic residency in Michigan, he completed a 12 month fellowship at the State University of New York in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Raley has been practicing medicine since 1998 and has become a leader in the field of spinal surgery. He specializes in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Interventional Pain Management. He is board certified in Orthopaedics and Spine. Dr. Raley's additional specialized training in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery allows the majority of his patients to have cervical, thoracic, and lumbar procedures as an outpatient basis. Dr. Raley is the only spine surgeon in the Washington, DC/Metro area that performs outpatient lumbar fusions and endoscopic discectomies. Dr. Raley regularly lectures nationally and internationally. He routinely travels extensively across the United States and internationally to teach other physicians state of the art surgical techniques. His research appears in leading medical journals, and he has authored chapters in many surgical textbooks. He also is a peer reviewer for an internationally recognized spine journal and is active in the design and implementation of many new surgical procedures and surgical implants.
