Dr. Lindsay practiced in Brevard, NC, for 14 years before opening a practice Cashiers and joining the medical staff of Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in the spring of 2005. In early 2006 he became a full-time physician in the hospital's emergency room. Although still a part-time member of the hospital's emergency room team, he reopened his practice in family medicine in Cashiers in the winter of 2007, where he now practices full time.
A native of High Point, NC, Dr. Lindsay earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1988 and completed both his internship and residency in family practice at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, finishing in 1991. He joined Brevard Family Practice in Brevard later that same year, and practiced as part of that group until 2004, when he opened an independent practice, Davidson River Family Medicine.
Dr. Lindsay has many years of experience as an emergency room physician, working at Swain County Hospital in Bryson City, Angel Medical Center in Franklin, Transylvania Community Hospital in Brevard and for the last two years at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital.
He also an adjunct instructor with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He is board certified in family practice and a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the North Carolina Academy of Family Practice.
