A graduate of Spring Hill College (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, summa cum laude), Dr. Myers received his medical training at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University Hospitals and Clinics, University of Alabama in Birmingham. Following his residency, Dr. Myers served in the United States Army Medical Corp, reaching the rank of Major. He then returned to the University of Alabama in Birmingham to complete a fellowship in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology. Dr. Myers began private practice in Mobile in 1979, and was that same year appointed a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Myers is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. He serves or has served on a number of boards, including Providence Hospital, Seton Health Corporation of South Alabama, St. Paul's Episcopal School, Bay Bank and Mobile Metropolitan YMCA.
