Dr. Shahbandar is a fellowship-trained specialists in Interventional Pain Medicine and is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He was born in Michigan and raised in Wisconsin. He attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and then completed residency and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. At the Cleveland Clinic, he was privileged to rain under some of the world's pioneers in Pain Medicine for eight years. His experiences include private practice and academic medicine. He recently spend three years training physicians at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, when practicing interventional pain medicine, Dr. Shahbandar has been well known for his bedside manner and excellent procedural skills. One of his goals when treating patients is to alleviate pain while minimizing the use of controlled substances. His specific fields of interest include complex regional pain syndrome and spine.
