Dr. Raguthu has completed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, was named to the ranks of the Best Physicians in the USA in 2007 In 2005, served as Medical Director for Brownsville’s South Texas Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Surya served on the board of the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, Active Life Rehab Center, in 2008, specializing in musculo skeletal medicine, pain management, workers comp, and industrial medicine. He practiced cardiac, pediatric, coma recovery, sports medicine, general and musculo-skeletal rehabilitation. Over the years his affiliations with St. Vincent’s, Beth Israel, and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center have given him the opportunity to work with pioneers in the profession. His greatest thrill is being able to treat patients and help them walk again. He also provides free services to people who cannot afford certain medical services. He enjoys his profession by helping to optimize medical outcomes. He also enjoys the interaction that he has with the people as he encounters in all walks of life on a day to day basis. He became involved in his profession because of his desire to help others and the influence and support of his family, many of whom are renowned physicians. He attributes his success to his discipline, hard work, dedication and ability to derive fulfillment from within his profession. In five years, Dr. Raguthu hopes to expand his practice to three or more locations.
