Suneetha Venkatapuram was born and raised in Tirupathi, a famous temple town in southern India. Though not a doctor, Suneethas father served as her greatest inspiration in becoming a physician. According to Suneetha, her father had a vision for her, and showed her how doctors can make a difference in their patients lives by providing compassionate care. Cardiology became of interest to Suneetha while working with many great mentors and role models through the years. She was also exposed to many different facets of cardiology through her family. This exposure further helped to push Suneetha to her current career. Suneetha loves the opportunity to work with people born with congenital heart anomalies. She describes them as "true fighters and survivors." "It has been a privilege to be a part of their survival story," she states. Apart from spending time with her husband and three children two boys and a girl Suneetha enjoys cooking, reading history books, and listening to classical Indian music.
her cardiovascular practice activities, Dr. Venkatapuram also currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
