The Duke Fertility Center is excited to introduce the newest physician to join our team: Suheil J. Muasher, MD. He is a graduate of the American University of Beirut, trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Muasher has had a long standing special association with Drs. Georgeanna and Howard Jones, having served as a fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at The Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. Following completion of his fellowship, Dr. Muasher remained at The Jones Institute as a faculty member until 2003. While at The Jones Institute, Dr. Muasher advanced academically to Full Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School and served as Director of both the IVF Program, and The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Since 2004 he has directed The Muasher Center for Fertility and IVF. His affection for Johns Hopkins and proximity to Baltimore culminated in a faculty appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. At Hopkins, Dr. Muasher has played a vital role in the training and education of medical students, house officers, and fellows in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He also held faculty appointments at George Washington University and Virginia Commonwealth University. From 2003 to 2005 Dr. Muasher served as President of the Middle East Fertility Society. In 2004, he was presented with the King Hussein Medal for Excellence in Scientific Achievements by King Abduallah II of Jordan. Dr. Muasher has been prolific, contributing over 180 papers and chapters to the medical literature and serving on the Editorial Advisory Board of Fertility and Sterility. He is an authority in hormonal regulation in IVF cycles. Dr. Muashers status in his field has led to numerous international invitations as speaker and post-graduate course faculty.
