I have always loved biology. I was interested in a career in science because I wanted to learn practical skills and contribute to society. I was born and raised in Southern California and my extended family still lives there. I love the rain and green lushness of Washington though, and I'm here to stay. In 2009, I joined the Army Reserves and in 2010, I volunteered with coworkers to provide medical care in Haiti.
