Not seeing minors at this time*Dr. Steven Fried is Founder and Director of New Pathways Counseling Center. He is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and has been in private practice for nearly thirty years. Dr. Fried is a published author, has been on the faculty at New York University for twenty-five years and a consultant at Brooklyn Hospital. He also helped coordinate the delivery of emergency mental health services and supervised dozens of practitioners in the aftermath of the World Trade Center attack.Dr. Fried obtained his Ph.D. at Hofstra University where he was trained in cognitive-behavioral techniques. Thereafter, he trained extensively in psychoanalysis. Dr. Fried also holds a Juris Doctorate. He is a member of both the New York State Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.As an established group practice, New Pathways has served the Park Slope area for over 25 years. After being seen virtually by Dr. Fried for your intake, you will be assigned to a therapist based on your insurance, availability, any personal preferences and most importantly- personality fit. The benefits of a group practice are a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and if you do not feel a sense of connection, you can easily request to see someone different at new pathways.We are providing virtual therapy for clients all across the greater NYC area. Our services include individual and couples therapy, with a supportive approach to help you reach your goals.Our NYC based therapists are warm, empathetic and are extensively trained in a wide variety of techniques such as cognitive behavioral, emotionally focused, psychodynamic and person-centered therapy.
