Colorado Injury and Pain Specialists is proud to have Stephen Markewich join our practice. Originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, Stephen completed both his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Doctorate of Medicine at Medical University of the Americas in St. Nevis. Stephen completed his residency at the University of North Carolina in 2009 and began his career at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, North Dakota. In 2011, Stephen took his fellowship program in pain medicine at the University of North Carolina. He has become an expert in pain management and lectures internationally on spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pain pumps.With his personal motto being “Do no harm,” patients can take comfort in the knowledge that Dr. Markewich will always put them first. Having had multiple pain injections himself, he is able to understand the entire experience.In his personal time, Stephen is an avid rock climber, with summits of mountains including Mount Rainier, Cotopaxi, and Aconcagua. He is excited for the weather and mountains Grand Junction has to offer.
