Brief Intro

Dr. Cope graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Biology and received his MD from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Cope completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Campbell Foundation-UTCHS Orthopaedic Residency Program in Memphis, Tennessee. He also completed his Fellowship training at Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Cope is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in sports related injuries and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Cope is also specialty trained in cartilage restoration procedures of the knee including autologous chondrocyte implantation. He is a member of most area hospital staffs, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Cope is the team physician for the University of Mobile and Springhill College. He is also the Medical Coordinator of Orthopaedics for the Senior Bowl.
