Brief Intro

Dr. Stephen Braden grew up in San Marcos. He attended Southwest Texas State University before it became Texas State, then moved to Dallas to finish at UT Southwestern Medical School. A desire to apply his love of science in a way that would help others led him to become a doctor. He chose to focus on family medicine so he could form long-term relationships with patients and their families. The health system's mission and values are what attracted Dr. Braden to St. Joseph. He says St. Joseph's mission helps him accomplish his own. Dr. Braden and his wife have four children. He is proud that they were all raised with a sense of responsibility and the need to serve others. In his free time, he follows sports and likes to travel. Dr. Braden is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and goes on one or two medical missions every year.
