Dr. Shamel Hashish provides care to physical medicine and rehabilitation patients at St. Alexius. He completed a master's degree in general surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy in Egypt. He was a general surgery resident physician at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens and SUNY Downstate Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.; he also worked in the surgical ICU at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Hashish then completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn. He is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
