Dr. Tonsing was born and raised in Ohio, where she graduated from the College of Wooster. She then followed in her father's and grandfather's steps by going into medicine. She attended Vanderbilt Medical School and then onto residency at University of Colorado Health Science Center. After working as faculty there for a year, she moved to Pueblo with her husband where they have raised three sons. In her time outside the office, Dr. Tonsing enjoys cooking, reading and playing with her dogs.
