I was born and raised in Southern California. I became interested in medicine at an early age, but also had a desire to design and build mechanical devices. This led me to obtain a degree in mechanical engineering at UC Irvine before going to medical school at UCLA. The curriculum of engineering proved to satisfy my general interests as well as being an asset in my practice as an orthopedic surgeon. My hobbies include car racing, practicing automotive mechanics, wine tasting, fishing and golf.
