Dr. Roy Baker is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in spine care and spine surgery. Having practiced in Savannah since 1983, Dr. Baker is referred some of the most complex back and neck cases from across Southeast Georgia and South Carolina. Dr. Baker began his medical training at the University of Alabama, where he received his medical degree in 1973. He stayed in Birmingham to complete a surgical internship. In 1983, Dr. Baker finished his residency in neurosurgery at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a fellow in neurosurgery from 1981-1982 and Chief Resident from 1982-83.
being a member of several professional associations including the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Baker is active in the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Southern Neurological Society. He has co-authored several published articles that have appeared in periodicals including Brain Research and The Journal of Neurosurgery.
