Kristensen, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacements, as well as problems involving the lower extremity. Dr. Kristensen joined Boise Orthopedic Clinic in 1996 and is a founder of the St. Luke's Joint Center. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.After completing his lower extremity fellowship in Seattle in 1996, he moved to Boise where he advanced lower extremity reconstruction, having performed over 1,000 computer assisted hip and knee replacement surgeries. He has worked with the early development of custom cutting jigs and has implemented advanced multimodal pain management techniques to minimize postoperative discomfort.Dr. Kristensen is active in the medical community, serving on multiple committees for St Lukes. He has been active in teaching and research with numerous publications, as well as lectures regarding the management of arthritic problems. He has also been quoted in the newspaper and has appeared on television regarding joint replacements. In 2005, Dr. Kristensen was elected as one of the Best Doctors in America by his peers and currently holds this nomination. It is Dr. Kristensens goal to return his patients to pain-free daily activities as well as recreational activities including golfing, biking, and even skiing.
