Dr. Gioffre is a native of Beaver Falls, PA.
He received his B.S. Degree from Geneva College and his M.D. Degree from Marquette University Medical School. Dr. Gioffre served his surgical internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was awarded a Silver Star in Vietnam. After service as a Naval physician at St. Albans Naval Hospital in New York, he completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.
Following private orthopaedic practice in Miami and Greensboro, Dr. Gioffre merged with Greensboro Orthopaedic Center in 1984. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He has served as Chief of Staff at Wesley Long Hospital. Effective July 1, 2010 Dr. Gioffre will assume the responsibilities to serve as President of Greensboro Orthopaedics.
His non-professional interests include golf and Bible Study Fellowship for Men. He is married to the former Nancy Almquist, and they have three adult children, Jennifer, Sean, and Ryan and five grandchildren Gloria Grace Poland,Christian Luke Poland, Elliot Gioffre Poland, Jack Graham Gioffre and Rocco Walter Gioffre.
