Dr. ValenteDr. Robert Valente earned a BS in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota, then graduated from Mayo Medical School. After finishing his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, he competed his rheumatology fellowship at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He remained at the Mayo Clinic for 11 years, where he practiced, was a consultant in rheumatology, and served as Chair of the rheumatology education committee and Director of rheumatology training. Dr. Valente joined the Arthritis Center of Nebraska in 1999. He is currently the Director of Clinical Research at the Arthritis Center and is an instructor at the University of Nebraska Dental College. He has published more than 20 articles and abstracts, and has written three chapters on systemic vasculitis for major textbooks. A requested lecturer at Union College physician assistants program and Bryan Hospital family practice residency program, Dr. Valente has made more than 300 presentations as an invited lecturer all around the world. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
