Dr. Shuman is a Board Certified Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon. After graduating from Bowman Gray School of Medicine, he received six years of general and vascular surgical training at UC San Diego. His cardiac training in Chicago covered all three aspects: complex cardiac, thoracic and major vascular surgery. He has been in private practice at Long Beach Memorial Center since 1979 and was voted one of L.A.'s Best Physicians in 1996. Dr. Shuman has a special interest in aortic dissections.
