Dr. Robert L. Trestman, Ph.D., M.D., is Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Former executive director of Correctional Managed Health Care at the University of Connecticut, he led inmate health and held academic roles at University of Connecticut, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Bronx Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Trestman co-developed START NOW psychotherapy, authored 180+ articles, and co-edited the Oxford Textbook of Correctional Psychiatry. He chairs APA's Healthcare Systems and Financing Council, advises the US District Drug Court, and serves on Bradley Free Clinic's Board.
