Brief Intro

Dr. Strawser graduated from Southwest Texas State University. He received his M.S., Ph.D., and M.D. degrees from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency training in Family Practice at Silas B. Hays Army Community Hospital at Ft. Ord, California. He was then stationed at Reynolds Army Community Hospital at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He did tours of duty in Panama, Argentina and was Chief of Medicine for the 47th Field Hospital in the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He has been in practice in the Round Rock area since 1992 and is one of the founding members of Brushy Creek Family Physicians. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. He enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine. He served the Texas Academy of Family Physicians as a member of the Bylaws Committee and Commission on Academic Affairs in 2006-2007. He is married to Dr. Karen Lea Southmayd and has five children and two grandchildren.
