Lisa Benton, a native of Audubon, joined Iowa Heart Center's electrophysiology program in 1994.
Lisa holds a nursing degree from Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing in Council Bluffs. She previously worked as an Iowa Heart Center office and hospital rounding nurse for the electrophysiologists at Mercy Hospital and was involved in numerous pacemaker and ICD related research studies.
She has co-authored several abstracts which were selected for presentation at the international Heart Rhythm Society Scientific Sessions, Cardiostim, and the World Congress on Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology.
She was selected to be a faculty member at the 2000 North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology Scientific session, and has published articles in medical journals on providing care for patients with implantable devices.
She completed her undergraduate degree and nurse practitioner training through Graceland University in Independence, Missouri in 2007.
Lisa received recognition as an Allied Professional Certified Device Specialist in 1996 and Certified EP specialist in 1997.
