Raul R. Mena, MD, established East Valley Hematology and Oncology Medical Group, Inc. in 1991. He has distinguished himself in the field of Medical Oncology for more than 25 years. Dr. Mena is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He matriculated at the University of New Mexico and graduated from the School of Medicine. His postgraduate training was completed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. While at Harbor-UCLA, Dr. Mena completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology. He served as the Supervisor of Residents, and was awarded both fellow and clinical faculty teaching awards in the Department of Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Mena is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Southern California Association for Clinical Oncology, the International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, the American Association of Blood Banks, the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology. Dr. Mena plays a key role in the ing clinical research at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center, monitoring clinical trials to ensure the latest treatments are available for his patients. Presently, Dr. Mena is the Medical Director of the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center. In the past, he has served as the Chief of Staff. He continues to investigate numerous potential treatment modalities through acting as Principal Investigator for multiple research studies. Dr. Mena holds an unwavering commitment to quality and compassionate patient care. He is fluent in English and Spanish, contributing to his diligent commitment to patient care.
