Rachel Masia, D.O., is a board certified general surgeon and is board eligible in colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Masia will be joining Atlantic Surgical Group and is supported by a dedicated, highly trained care team. As a location affiliated with Jersey Shore University Medical Center, this practice offers seamless access to the latest technology as well as a full range of support services.
Prior to joining the Atlantic Surgical group at HMH, Dr. Masia completed her fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. In addition, she completed her general surgery residency at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Dr. Masia has published and presented on subject matters regarding gastro, colon, and rectal conditions. Dr. Masia is an active member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Additionally, starting in 2018, Dr. Masia has served as a member of the following committees: Morbidity and Mortality, Surgical Inclusion, and Quality Improvement and Outcomes. Dr. Masia is excited to be back in her home state. She is passionate to bring her knowledge and expertise of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), as well as benign and malignant anorectal and colorectal disease, back to the Jersey Shore.
