Raafat S. Hannallah, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s National Medical Center and is professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at George Washington University Medical Center.
Dr. Hannallah has authored and coauthored more than 92 articles, 106 abstracts, 31 books and book chapters, and 260 invited lectures and presentations around the world concerning pediatric perioperative anesthetic management, ambulatory anesthesia and pain management, and related topics.
He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, the Canadian Anaesthetists Society, the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (Past President), and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, among others.
Dr. Hannallah is the 2003 recipient of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia’s Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), and the Executive Committee of the International Association for Ambulatory Surgery (IAAS).
