I was born in Cairo, Egypt to parents that hailed from the Levant. I grew up in Egypt with frequent sojourns in Lebanon. My mother tongue is French and I was educated at the Jesuit School in Egypt. I've felt compelled to learn about the healing arts and knew by age 14 or 15 that I wanted to be a doctor. I derive intense satisfaction by caring for people and putting them back on the road to health. I was an avid cyclist until an unfortunate accident in January 2007. I still exercise regularly albeit indoors. Cooking is an important hobby of mine insofar as it opens the door to different cultures and flavors.
