Brief Intro

I thoroughly enjoy the practice of psychiatry. Psychiatry is an exciting branch of medicine. It provides me with a wonderful opportunity to get to know people and to help them. It is also very challenging - a challenge I like. Psychiatry has recently been making dramatic progress in its knowledge and treatments. I provide a comprehensive consultation and evaluation, taking time to understand the unique history and problems of each individual. I help people with a wide range of problems - from attention problems, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, to stress that comes with difficult times in one's life. I work with children, adolescents and adults. I am a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Universityâ€™s medical school. I was an intern at Columbiaâ€™s main teaching site, Presbyterian Hospital, and I was a Fellow in Psychiatry at the Yale University Department of Psychiatry and then a Fellow in Child Psychiatry at Yaleâ€™s Child Study Center. I am Board Certified in both Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry. Since the completion of my training, I have always had a part-time or full-time private practice, but I have also had teaching positions as an Assistant Professor both at Yale and at the University of Connecticut, and a variety of clinical and administrative positions, including director of child psychiatry at the Yale Health Plan, Medical Director of the Northern Berkshire Mental Health Association (Massachusetts), Medical Director and Chairman of Psychiatry at the Bennington Hospital (Vermont), and Director of Utilization Review at MeadowWood Hospital. I am a Past President of the Delaware Psychiatric Society (two separate terms) and a Past President of the Delaware Regional Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
