Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:Deciding to become a physician was not a difficult choice for me. Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in the sciences and how they contribute to the betterment of human health. A career in vascular surgery allows me to enjoy putting my knowledge of science and medicine into substantive work that can really make a difference in the lives of people in our community. What I want my patients to know about me:I enjoyed growing up in Brooklyn, NY and later on attending high school in Long Island, NY. I come from a family of police, fireman, plumbers, truck drivers and the like. This gave me tremendous appreciation for hard work. My father worked for the New York City water department, and it was at a young age that he and my mom introduced me to the beauty of Pennsylvania by way of our yearly summer vacation to the Lancaster/Hershey area. I enjoyed the Pennsylvania countryside very much, and it influenced my decision to attend Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not working, I spend my time with my children and my family.
