I was born in India. After medical school, I decided to come to the United States and trained in anesthesiology at University of Illinois in Chicago, a subspecialty in cardiac anesthesia at Loyola University of Chicago in Maywood, Illinois, where I served as an assistant professor for seven years before deciding to move to sunny Southern California. I come from a family of four doctors (siblings) who are practicing medicine in different parts of United States. I find it very satisfying to work at Kaiser Permanente, where I can practice high-quality medicine without the distraction of the business aspect of medicine.
