My love for the practice of family medicine over the last 37 years is based on the relationships that I develop with my patients.
Family medicine encompasses every aspect of life including the wonders of growing children; the goals, aspirations and disappointments of adulthood; and the challenges of old age.
Life is often a roller coaster and my job is to help navigate the hard times and enjoy and celebrate the good times with my patients.
My other goal is to aim for a healthy and long retirement for my patients utilizing preventive care medicine and best practice recommendations. That means doing what is appropriate, avoiding unnecessary (and often costly) testing and educating my patients in shared decision making so they understand the reasoning behind the care they are (and are not) receiving.
I received my medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed a residency at Sacred Heart Hospital.
I am married with 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Along with hanging out with my wife and kids, I enjoy regular exercise including the gym, skiing, tennis, the piano, Sudoku and a good book.
