Brief Intro

Dr. Michael Jorgensen has over 35 years of chiropractic clinical practice experience and has taken advanced post-graduate training in conservative, non-surgical methods to treat TMJ pain and disorders. He has found that the cervical spine (neck), posture and how the joints function (biomechanics) play an interdependent role in the proper operation of the jaw. Although a mouth guard may be helpful to prevent teeth grinding, it doesn’t address larger issues such as the position of the head, muscle spasm/tension of the muscle of mastication (chewing) and other factors. Dr. Jorgensen will have a private consultation followed by a thorough examination of the tempo-mandibular joint (TMJ), the cervical spine, ranges of motion and other necessary testing and x-rays, where necessary. He’ll then propose a treatment program to discuss with the client and their role in the recovery process.
