Dr. Sanders attended Louisiana State University and continued her education at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Upon graduating, Dr. Sanders held an internship position at the Ochsner Medical Center, which included a year long rotation. Dr. Sanders completed her residency at the Ochsner Clinic in Therapeutic Radiology. In addition to her work at MBP, Dr. Sanders has practiced radiation oncology for over 20 years. Furthermore, Dr. Sanders spent ten years working for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in both clinical and administrative capacities. A native of Louisiana, Dr. Sanders has served as Chair of the Louisiana Board of Regents and Interim Chancellor of the LSU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Sanders has been with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center since 2007.
