Dr. Canter graduated with honors from Georgetown University Medical School and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Medical Center. She graduated from a three-year Urogynecology Fellowship Program in Louisville, KY, and she brings with her a very modern and skilled approach to the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. She is extensively trained in minimally invasive surgery, including specialized laparoscopic procedures to correct prolapse.
Dr. Canter has received multiple awards recognizing her achievements in Urogynecology from both Georgetown University and University of Louisville. These awards include an award for excellence in minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, academic excellence, and achievements in clinical research. She is the 2005 recipient of the June Allyson Foundation Research Award from the American Urogynecologic Society.
She is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association.
