Brief Intro

I have lived and practiced medicine in Anacortes, Washington since 2000. I was born and raised in northern Indiana. I received my bachelor's degree in Slavic studies at Northwestern University. I then did molecular biology research at Indiana University and obtained a master's degree in physiology. I received my medical degree from the University of Indiana and then did my residency training through Oregon Health Sciences University in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I chose this program because I wanted to be trained to practice full-spectrum family medicine with obstetrics in a rural area. I wanted to be a REAL doctor. My goal is to provide the best, most comprehensive family practice services available. I enjoy providing healthcare needs unique to all portions of the life cycle. I apply this to the whole person, and often the whole family -- even to generations of the same family. Obstetrics is exciting and challenging as a physician, but the most amazing part is being part of the process (assisting and witnessing) as a woman becomes a parent and a couple becomes a family. When I am not working with patients, I enjoy being active in the great outdoors with my husband, two children and our dog. Our activities range from foursquare to skiing; however, mountain biking is my passion and it is quickly becoming a passion of my children. We all feel fortunate to live in Anacortes, which hosts a wide range of opportunities for these outdoor adventures.
