Majed Jeroudi, MD, treats children who carry various blood diseases such as anemia, iron deficiency anemia, hemolytic anemia, hereditary spherocytosis, G6PD, sickle cell disease and aplastic anemia. He also treats young patients with white blood cell diseases, bleeding problems, diseases related to platelets or clotting and pediatric patients with cancer.
Dr. Jeroudi, has decades of experience helping kids manage symptoms like:
- Anemia (fewer red blood cells that result in dizziness and lightheadedness, difficult breathing, pale skin)
- Jaundice (yellowing of the eyes, skin and mouth)
- Pain crisis (sickle cells block blood flow in small blood vessels, often in the chest, arms and legs)
- Acute chest syndrome (sickle cells block oxygen flow in tiny lung vessels resulting in chest pain, coughing, difficult breathing)
- Splenic sequestration (sickle cells get stuck and build up in the spleen to make organ swollen and painful)
Dr. Jeroudi treats children with sickle cell disease at WK Children’s Health Specialists at 2032 Elizabeth Street in Shreveport.
A native of Syria, Dr. Jeroudi attended medical school at Aleppo University. His pediatrics residency was in Shreveport at LSU Health Medical Center and his pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship was in Atlanta at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Jeroudi is board certified in hematology and oncology through the American Board of Pediatrics.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Jeroudi enjoys spending time with family and friends.
