Lester C. Permut, MD, is attending surgeon in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital and clinical associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Permut received his MD from Boston University School of Medicine, and did postgraduate training at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. He has completed the University of Washington's teaching scholars program. He is director of education for the pediatric cardiac surgery program and cardiothoracic surgery lecturer for the anesthesia and pediatric ICU fellowship programs. His clinical interests include pediatric cardiac surgery and complex congenital heart defects.
