Brief Intro

Dr. Kolodychuk attended the University of Alberta, Edmonton, earning his Bachelor of Medical Science in 1982 and Medical Doctorate in 1984. Between 1984 and 1991, he took Residency training at St. Thomas Hospital Medical Center, Akron, OH, and the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Additional training includes a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Center in Vancouver, BC, and a Spine Surgery Fellowship at the Institute for Low Back and Neck Care in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Kolodychuk conducted a private practice in British Columbia, Canada, before joining Northeast Orthopedic Center in Watertown, SD. He practiced at the Orthopedic Institute in Sioux Falls, SD, just prior to joining Skagit Island Orthopedics. While in South Dakota, he chaired the SD Medical Association's Commission of Medical Practice, served as Chief of the Department of Surgery at Prairie Lakes Hospital and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. Dr. Kolodychuk is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association, in addition to regional and Canadian professional associations.
